In the words of my mom:
"Your outfit today matches the surroundings quite well. Did you pick it out that way on purpose?
It turns out that I quite like to dress for the occasion or adventure and this was no exception.......

If you follow me on Instagram you might remember that I took a trip to Magnolia Market at the end of December. I had been meaning to visit Magnolia Market ever since the summertime, but time got away from me and alas I finally made it at the end of the year. It turned out to be a rather chilly and rainy day when we decided to take a trip to the silos, but that somehow made the adventure all the more exciting.

I have found that most people visit Magnolia Market because they are HUGE fans of the TV show "Fixer Upper," but the funny thing is that I only just saw "Fixer Upper" a few days before visiting. It is suffice to say that I am completely in love with "Fixer Upper" now (and desperately need my own place to fix up). I loved walking through the store and seeing all of the simple and lovely decorations and home wear that truly inspire you to go and spruce up a room or an entire house.

After we spent some time going through the shops and walking around outside we went to stand in line for cupcakes. As a cupcake "connoisseur" myself, I always love the adventure and experience of visiting new cupcake shops and try to make it a point to visit one whenever I travel somewhere new. The "Silo Baking Co." was no exception and I am now their BIGGEST fan! If I had a cupcake shop (which used to be my dream) I think it would look much like theirs in its simplicity, yet dedication to making delectable treats. When we finally ordered I settled on the Lemon Lavender cupcake (suggested by Chrisy of Collard Cashmere) and I must say that it was heavenly!

All in all it was a wonderful and adventurous day and I am so glad that I finally got to visit.

Have you been to Magnolia Market?
Are you a fan of the cupcakes?

  1. So glad you had fun, despite the drizzly weather! And I agree with your mom--your outfit definitely matches the effortless chic of magnolia ♥ I'm glad you loved the cupcake! I have a friend who works there and whenever I come down to Waco I bring Sprinkles, and when she comes up to Dallas, she brings Magnolia! Friendship personified in cupcakes is the best type of friendship, in my opinion lol.

  2. My parents are visiting there this week! (I'm jealous.) I love "Fixer Upper". Everything they touch is gold, and talk about #marriagegoals! Glad you had a fun trip, and this IS a great outfit! Comfy but super cute; good job.

  3. Ooh, looks like you had a marvelous time! I love Fixer Upper and Joanna's amazing design style. I really wish I could visit the silos, but sadly California is just a wee bit far. :) And my, those cupcakes look heavenly!
Hope your new year has been lovely so far. :)

  4. I love that jacket and the color is gorgeous.

  5. I love your jumper and noticed you made it. By chance would that be an item you would make for sale? I have not visited Magnolia Market, however it looks like an awesome adventure. The cup cake looked scrumptious! They are fun to make and decorate:) you look so cute even in the rain;) Stephanie

  6. This is adorable!!! I've heard of Magloia Market and know tigers that have gone, but I haven't headed over there myself yet. You liked the experience?

And CUPCAKES!!!! A cap cake shop makes everything more fun.
